Forest Pictures
Living in New Mexico we are fortunate to have easy access to a diverse range of forests. Within miles of our home we can drop in elevation to the point where forests don't grow. We can also reach elevations where they are just surviving. If we want to see alpine tundra we have to drive a little farther.
Photographing these forests at different seasons and with different weather conditions is endlessly fascinating. We think the forest pictures shown below would make good greeting cards and calendars for the many who love the forest but are unable to view it as often as they would like.
The picture above is almost entirely Pinon-Juniper with some Ponderosa Pine and riparian cottonwoods near the water in the lowest areas.
